
Standard Ethanol, LLC ("Standard") was formed in September 2006 and began business in November 2006 to develop ethanol production facilities through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Mid America Agri Products/Wheatland LLC ("MAAP/W") and Mid America Agri Products/Horizon, LLC ("MAAP/H"). The majority of Standard's equity was provided by Mid America Bio Energy & Commodities, LLC ("MABE"), who also contracts to operate and maintain the Projects, along with providing long-term coal supply contracts to each of the Plants.
MAAP/W was formed and began business in January 2005 to develop an ethanol production facility in Madrid, Nebraska. MAAP/H was formed in December 2004 and began business in January 2005 to develop an ethanol production facility in Cambridge, Nebraska. Initially, the facilities are designed to be 44 million gallon per year dry mill (processing technology) Plants. The MAAP/W Plant is set to commence operations during this quarter of 2007, with MAAP/H scheduled for production in the first quarter of 2008. Both facilities are scheduled to double their capacity in their third year of operation and then may be converted from utilizing natural gas to coal as their primary fuel.
Ethanol produced will be sold exclusively through the Company's marketer to national, regional and local markets and delivered using rail and trucking services. The process of producing ethanol for fuel produces other co-products, primarily distillers grain, which is a high-value animal feed. The majority of the distillers grain will be produced and sold wet to existing beef cattle feed yards located in southwestern Nebraska, northwestern Kansas and eastern Colorado.
